Dr. Wafa Sultan's second al-Jazeera interview that included a debate with Egyptian Islamist, Tal'at Rheim on the republication of the Danish Mohammed cartoons. Subsequent to the March 4th Al-Jazeera interview, Egyptian Islamist Sheik al-Qaradawi issued a Fatwa against her. Sultan and her family have gone into hiding.

Our ally , Bob Spencer of Jihad Watch has called Sultan " a national and international treasure". Having met Dr. Sultan, we agree.

Yesterday, we received email s from Joyce and Persia expressing concerns about the lack of 24/7 personal security protection for Dr. Sultan. Note that in Holland, Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders received 24/7 security from his government with the release of his important film, "Fitna". Her safety is the equivalent of what the British government did for author Salman Rushdie when the Ayatollahs of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a Fatwa calling for his death with the publication of his book, 'The Satanic Verses". Our government should consider doing the same for Dr. Sultan, an American citizen who is the subject of a death threat from an Islamist Cleric, Sheik al-Qarawadi.

She asked us to help her by submitting a letter to the Embassy of Qatar. Qatar hosts the 24/7 Arab language satellite TV channel Al-Jazeera.

Sultan has been forced into hiding and needs our help for her valued and courageous stands against radical Islamism.

Copies of letters that you send to the Qatar Embassy in Washington,DC should be sent to President Bush, Secretary Rice and all Members of Congress.

As an American citizen I am appalled by the rage, threats and hateful rhetoric leveled against Dr. Wafa Sultan by Egyptian Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi.

Al-Qaradawi does not have the right to issue religious edicts, or "fatwas" against persons residing in the U.S., who express their opinions in an attempt to uphold the truth. In fact, it was this type of hateful rhetoric, threats and rage that compelled Dr. Sultan to speak out in the first place. As a result of al-Qaradawi's actions to exact revenge and incite hatred against Dr. Sultan, she has now been forced into hiding.

These are extraordinary charges against Dr. Sultan made by al-Qaradawi, who states them in a manner which his fellow jihadists understand perfectly. In fact, we all understand exactly what he is threatening.

Given that al-Qaradawi has justified suicide attacks against innocent civilians and American soldiers in Iraq, it is abundantly clear that he encourages violence and threats of death over civil discourse and free speech.

Law enforcement officials should take this latest threat against Wafa Sultan very seriously indeed.

Whatever happened to supporting Dr. Sultan, an American citizen, in her exercise of freedom of speech here in America? A bunch of cartoons got in the way?

 

A Date with Obama

I found this over at Sobering Thoughts.

Do you have the audacity of hope? Or the urgency of now? Perhaps you feel the audacity of now and the urgency of hope; or the ferocity of what: the adverb of where; the gerund of when or the vacuity of who. Then you are ready for a new kind of politics.

What are the defining features of The New Politics? Well, for a start the new politics is good. This is important because the old politics was bad. The old politics is sterile; the new politics is vibrant. The new politics is hope; the old politics is despair. If you are the candidate, the old politics is your opponent; the new politics is you.

The new politics doesn’t do detail. But it doesn’t matter because the better you say it, the less it has to mean. The new politics is about mood and vision. It claims to confront hard truths while sticking to old remedies. It purports to seek the end to corrosive negative campaigning even as it derides and dismisses all the alternatives as the old.

The beauty of the new politics is that the less experience you have the better you are at it. You just need to be personable, articulate and uncontaminated by power.

The current king of the new politics is Barack Obama. Consider the pithy but marshmallowy soundbites that form the heart of his rhetoric. They would be be just as valid for a man trying to entice a woman into bed. Imagine the scene at the front door.

“Aren’t you going to ask me in?”

“On our first date?”

“I have the audacity of hope.”

“I have work in the morning.”

“But I’m feeling the fierce urgency of now.”

“I’m sorry, I just don’t do this kind of thing on a first date.”

“It’s time for a change.”

“We can’t.”

“Yes we can.”

This may not work on a lady’s porch but politically it gets a foot in the door. But even as it appeals to disenchanted voters it plays the most cynical trick of all. For the new politics is the same old politics tapping into an unformed desire for change.

Muslims Seek to Ban "Life of Mohammad" Film

Source: Former Dutch Labour Party politician Ehsan Jami, the founder of the Committee of ex-Muslims, has announced that he is producing an anti-Islamic cartoon called The Life of Muhammad. It will be released on the 20th of April. The film will show a sexually aroused Prophet Muhammad with his nine-year-old wife Aisha.

Members of the Dutch Muslim and government contact organisation, CMO, who have viewed a section of the film, say they will go to court in an attempt to have The Life of Muhammad banned. The organisation has described the film as totally unacceptable and extremely offensive.

Mr Jami, who announced last year that he was planning to make a film, had said that it would be shocking and even more controversial than the recent Danish cartoons of Muhammad.

In case you didn't know, the story of Aisha's marriage and consummation with Mohammad is supported by Islamic text.

"Narrated Hisham's father: Khadija died three years before the Prophet departed to Medina. He stayed there for two years or so and then he married 'Aisha when she was a girl of six years of age, and he consumed that marriage when she was nine years old." Bukhari, Volume 5, Book 58, Number 236.

Once again, Muslims respond to criticism with violence.

Jami set up a committee last September that aims to encourage leaving Islam and protect apostate Muslims. Shortly before the launch, he was attacked by Muslims in his home town of Leidschendam, where he was a local councillor for the Labour (PvdA) party. In October, PvdA terminated his party membership because his opinions were too radical for it.

And censorship, and lawsuits.

The Muslims and Government Contact Body (CMO) has immediately announced it wants to bar the cartoon film via the courts. CMO is the government's official consultation partner on integration policy. CMO board member Ayhan Tonca, said on Netwerk that Jami's film will undoubtedly spark furious reactions in the Muslim world.

Ah yes, we're quite familiar with "furious reactions" from the Islamic community. Whether it's Theo Van Gogh or Salmon Rushdie, open debate is trumped by violence. The fear of violence leads to censorship, sometimes even self-censorship, thus rewarding the terrorists. After the threats or attacks have accomplished their purpose of establishing Islam as the only unassailable religion, the terrorists and their accomplices fall back into "the religion of peace" slogan, ready to begin the cycle again for the next offense to Islam.

Islam has had it both ways thus far, claiming to be peaceful while practicing jihad, while the press and frightened companies like Live Leak serve as enablers. The never-ending fear of criticism vs the fear of violence is no substitute for the free exchange of ideas. After all, great ideas need not fear honest debate. Islam should be treated no better than any other religion.

The Treason from Within; Another CAIR Official Indicted

On Wednesday, 26 March, a Grand Jury indictment against Muthanna Al-Hanooti was unsealed in Michigan. The indictment accuses Al-Hanooti of violations of 18 and 50 United States Code. The specifics include allegations that Al-Hanooti provided information on members of the congress who were of interest to the Iraqi Intelligence Service (IIS), acted under direction of the IIS, accepted payments in oil (two million barrels) from the Iraqi government for acting as its agent, and provided a written brief to the Iraqi government outlining methods that could be used to lift the sanctions then in place against Iraq.

Al-Hanooti was the executive director of CAIR’s then-new regional office in Michigan at the time he committed the alleged crimes. Once again, we see the dirty black hand of CAIR connected to yet another arguably traitorous individual who apparently sold out “his” country for 30 pieces of silver.

For over a decade, we Americans have allowed CAIR to dictate to us how we should behave, believe, and react to Islam in our country. We have kow-towed to CAIR’s demands for special rights based on Islam; watched our law enforcement genuflect at the feet of radical Islamists; observed our president and other elected leaders contort our language to comport with CAIR’s demands, and we have, for the most part, remained silent.

 

Silent, no more!

How many CAIR connected radical Muslims will we tolerate before we DEMAND of our President that he close down CAIR as he did the Holy Land Foundation?

How many treasonous acts are too many?

What is the tipping point for CAIR-connected crimes against our country?

How many of our brave warriors must die in the war on terror before we close down what is arguably the Embassy for Hamas in North America - CAIR?

The day has finally come when we Americans can no longer say about CAIR that “we didn’t know”.

 

CAIR has told us, numerous times, that they are here to defend radical Islam, that they want the United States to become an Islamic dictatorship, and that they approve of the actions of many Islamist terrorist groups and individuals; including those that terror-murder on an almost daily basis women and children.

Why aren’t we listening...?

Robert Spencer Answers Armchair Critic

I'm a long time reader of Jihad Watch and have read three of Spencer's books. So when I read Armchair's post, I emailed it to JW knowing that this is exactly the kind of intimidation he talks about all too often and could easily relate to this open advocation of violent jihad.

The growing Muslim indignation over Geert Wilders's movie Fitna manifests anew a phenomenon we have noted here many, many times: when non-Muslims point out that Islamic jihadists commit acts of violence and justify them by reference to the Qur'an, many non-Muslim and Muslim apologists for jihad, include many who are widely known as "moderates" respond by claiming that the one who is pointing out all this is committing an act of "hatred," "bigotry," "Islamophobia," and the like. They don't have a word to say about the actual acts of violence, hatred and supremacism committed by the jihadists -- no, the real villain is the one who reports on these actions.

This has only happened to me, let's see, about 50,000 times, but it never ceases to puzzle me. And now The Armchair Critic is doing the same thing to Kevin Weakley of The Amboy Times, for his celebrated "List of Things That Offend Muslims." The Critic, the illustrious Edroos Alsagoff, says:

But I think I have no excuse to pray that the author of this idiotic post have anything good for him or her.

This guy is a real muppet. I couldn't care to dig up his background or where he came from for that matter. Anyone who stirs shit like that deserved to be shot really. This is simply a case of asking for it. Don't even mention terrorists, this chap could be in real trouble even if he bumped into his Muslim neighbour, if he has any.

"Anyone who stirs shit like that deserved to be shot really." Never mind that everything on Weakley's list is linked, and based on actual events. It doesn't seem to occur to Edroos Alsagoff that it might be perfectly legitimate to point out the ridiculous rage-mongering that all too many Muslims engage in all too frequently, and to call them on it.

It doesn't seem to occur to Edroos Alsagoff that the ones who are actually stirring the s*** are the ones who fly into irrational rage at the sight of ice cream cones and sneakers, and that to say that someone who points out the silliness and irrationality of that rage deserves to be shot indicates that he has already surrendered to violent intimidation -- even as he engages in it himself.

Oh, and Kevin, if this Edroos Alsagoff character is right, it may be time for you to add "The List of Things That Offend Muslims" to..."The List of Things That Offend Muslims."

It appears so.

Blogger says I Should Be Shot

The writer at the Armchair Critic blog says that I should be shot for compiling the list of things that offend Muslims, and goes on to compare me to a terrorist. Below is the whole uncensored, threatening mess. Emphasis added.

You know how much I hate to wish that something really bad happen to anyone (though at times I have expressed my desire to have someone I truly hate suffer in death thanks to a speeding bullet train). I doubt the prayers of someone who wishes death upon others would be of much value.

This kind of proves the basic thesis of the list, that Westerners have to tip toe around Muslims and hope they don't kill us for holding our own views. The faiths we practice and the traditions that we hold dear are meaningless targets for jihad. The writer, whose blog banner features a revolver with spattered blood, doesn't seem to realize that murder for the sake of his religion is what draws criticism to Islam.

I am not too sure about other religion, but I was taught in my nature of religion, to respect any and every other religion, other than satanic cult teachings perhaps. Never was I taught as a Muslim, to put down other religion in whatever manner. So here we have this idiot, probably still reeling from the post 911 attack, of which he probably strongly believe was the doings of every Muslim in the world, coming up with such an idiotic post and very much immature in my opinion.

Yet I lack the "maturity" to wish death upon those I critique. There have been some Muslims who have disagreed with the list in a mature manner, you sir, are certainly not one of them. He goes on to attack my readers as well.

What made it worse is people are coming up adding to the stupid list. Look here you idiot! If you think the terrorists (of which till today I still believe does not simply equals to Muslims per se) are a bunch of selfish motherfuckers who do evil for their own bloody good cause, then you are no less a motherfucker! It's people like you who create this animosity between the people that should have been shot down and taken away. It's people like you who selfishly caused extreme Muslims, if any, to react as such in terrorising your nation and your people.

How can it be my fault simply by reporting a series of complaints? The List is just a mirror, reflecting the non-stop rage aimed at anyone who isn't a Muslim, and the threats, violence and other acts of intimidation that follow. Is your faith so weak that it must threaten death to anyone who objects to it? Is that how you gain our trust? Don't you realize that non-Muslims are going to read this and see your rage as part of the problem?

Christians and Jews have to put up with criticism of our religions and are expected to be peaceable about it. The Blasphemy List has a history of some very vile protests against  a variety of religions, but the rest of the world doesn't seem to have a problem settling our disagreements in a civilized  manner. 

In local context, this bastard here is worst off than our most wanted man, Mas Selamat. Yes Mas Selamat is a suspected terrorist but hey this idiot here is a terrorists magnet. People like him attracts terrorists!!

You mentioned 9/11 earlier, what did they do to attract terrorists? Are you suggesting that terror victims are as guilty as the terrorists themselves? Who does more harm to the image of Islam? The terrorists, or the people who criticize them? And are your violent fantasies reserved for me rather than the real terrorists?

There is no context for comparing me to Mas Selamat bin Kastari, and you know it. I'm not a criminal, and I have no interest in bombing airports or joining the Taliban.

Your only argument against the List is that it offends terrorists, yet the terrorists are offended by the mere existence of infidels. List or no List, violent jihad is the problem, not it's critics.

Fitna the Movie Finally Released

The much anticipated, feared, loathed, offended, banned, dhimmied, threatened, fatwa-ed, and rumored Fitna (disturbance in Arabic) is now available.

Immediately after the news, the Dutch government went into a crisis meeting to discuss a reaction to the film. It is expected that Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende will give a response to Wilders' action later tonight.

"Fitna" contains images of the terror attack on the Twin Towers, the bombing of railway station Atocha in Madrid and the murder of director Theo van Gogh in Amsterdam. The film starts with a warning that it offers shocking images. The production, difficult to view because of many downloads, ends with a Danish cartoon of the prophet Muhammed hit apparently by a bomb. Wilders combines the images with various texts from the Koran, including quotes urging Muslims "to strike terror in the hearts of the enemies."

The Dutch politician said in an interview tonight on Dutch national television that his intention is to condemn the ideology of the Koran. "I do not hate the Muslim people," he stated. He also announced that his party will organize meetings in the future to start a dialogue with Muslims. "Fitna" was originally to be presented at a March 28 press conference in the Hague, the Dutch center of politics. Due to extreme security costs, the event was cancelled.

The video is about 16 minutes long and intersperses five suras from the Koran with related images and video. The suras are,

8:60 Make ready for them all thou canst of (armed) force and of horses tethered,  that thereby ye may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others beside  them whom ye know not. Allah knoweth them. Whatsoever ye spend in the way of  Allah it will be repaid to you in full, and ye will not be wronged.

4:56 Lo! Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire.  As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they  may taste the torment. Lo! Allah is ever Mighty, Wise.

47:4 Now when ye meet in battle those who disbelieve, then it is smiting of the  necks until, when ye have routed them, then making fast of bonds; and afterward  either grace or ransom till the war lay down its burdens. 4:89 They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be  upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their  homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them  wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them,

8:39 And fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is all for Allah. But  if they cease, then lo! Allah is Seer of what they do.

I'm surprised the verse of the sword (9:29) and 9:111 weren't included. But of course with 164 verses of violent jihad to choose from, you have to leave some out.

Obama may be able to pull off the "I don't agree with my Pastor" argument, but how is he going to deny the doctrine of the church he's been attending for twenty years?

Those are some of the more provocative doctrines that animate the theology at the core of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, Barack Obama’s church.

Obama’s speech Tuesday on race in America was hailed as a masterful handling of the controversy over divisive sermons by the longtime pastor of Trinity United, the recently retired Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.

But in repudiating and putting in context Wright’s inflammatory lines about whites and U.S. foreign policy, the Democratic presidential front-runner didn’t address other potentially controversial facts about his church and its ties.

Wright has said that a basis for Trinity’s philosophies is the work of James Cone, who founded the modern black liberation theology movement out of the civil rights struggles of the 1960s. Particularly influential was Cone’s seminal 1969 book, “Black Theology & Black Power.”

Cone wrote that the United States was a white racist nation and the white church was the Antichrist for having supported slavery and segregation.

Today, Cone, a professor at Union Theological Seminary in New York, stands by that view, but also makes clear that he doesn’t believe that whites individually are the Antichrist.

In an interview, Cone said that when he was asked which church most embodied his message, “I would point to that church (Trinity) first.” Cone also said he thought that Wright’s successor, the Rev. Otis Moss III, would continue the tradition…

…Wright, who hasn’t been giving interviews since the controversy broke, told conservative TV talk-show host Sean Hannity last year that Trinity’s black value system also had parallels to the liberation theology of laypeople in Nicaragua three decades ago. There, liberation theology became associated with Marxist revolution.

That would be "real change" all right.
