By a wide margin, 64-35. Coincidently, that is almost exactly the opposite of how America feels about this bill. According to a Zogby poll, 65% are opposed.
But just 3 percent of Americans approved of Congress's handling of the immigration issue and only 9 percent approved of the President's.
60 votes were needed to move the bill to the next step. But it's not too late folks, keep the pressure on your Senator. The people are against this bill, our voices need to be heard.
Numbers USA: the Senate voted to bring S. 1639, the “corrected and updated” version of S. 1348, to the floor. No votes on amendments are scheduled for tonight. Another cloture vote – this one to bring debate to a close (and, again, for which a “YES” vote will be considered as a vote for amnesty) – is slated for Thursday, June 28.
Michelle Malkin has a huge round up. Hot Air says it's refund time.
