US Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid threw up the white flag today. Calling for surrender while the troops are in harm's way must be a first in American history.
The war in Iraq "is lost" and a US troop surge is failing to bring peace to the country, the leader of the Democratic majority in the US Congress, Harry Reid, said Thursday.
"I believe ... that this war is lost, and this surge is not accomplishing anything, as is shown by the extreme violence in Iraq this week," Reid told journalists.
Hot Air notes that the surge isn't even in full swing yet, with only 60% of it's forces deployed. As far as losing the war, I suggest Reid ask Saddam, his sons, and Zarkawi how the war is going for them. Or...Reid can ask himself how his surrender bill will do against a Presidential veto. Now there's a quagmire! Meanwhile, McCain knows how to "negotiate with terrorists".
