I like Tancredo, but I don't think he can win the nomination. But the GOP could (and almost certainly will) do worse that Tancredo. He has a no nonsense approach to immigration , forming the Congressional Immigration Reform Caucus and Team America. This will endure him to conservatives and moderates while earning him no friends in the media.
Tancredo's book, "In Mortal Danger" spells out the dangers of having an open border policy while fighting a war on terror.

Tancredo took some flack for his Mecca comment, but his hypothetical of a nuclear attack on the United States would demand a strong response, one that today's PC politicians dare not speak., no matter how probable. He seems to be the only visible pol who can make the border/terror nexus, and for that reason I applaud his running
