With the GOP controlling the White House and Congress, the Dow has reached an all time high.
""Wall Street extended its October rally Monday
as investors grew more confident about upcoming earnings reports and as
a decline in oil bolstered hopes for higher consumer spending. The Dow
Jones industrials crossed 12,100 for the first time and reached a new
record high close.
Dow component Wal-Mart Stores Inc., which pleased investors by announcing plans to cut capital spending to improve profits, helped the blue chips to their new high. The Dow's record came just three trading days after its first move past 12,000.""
Pretty amazing considering we've disposed of a dictator in Iraq, overthrown the Taliban in Afghanistan, suffered the 9/11 attacks, and are still recovering from Katrina. All this is a heavy strain on an economy, but the unemployment rate has actually dropped. With all this good economic news, the GOP should be in the catbird seat right?
But no, all is gloom and doom. The media has all but written the GOP off while drowning out positive news. The MSM and their lefty pals have clung so tightly to the "quagmire in Iraq" strategy in hopes that Joe Sixpack won't notice that things are actually pretty good here in the good 'ole US. Yep, Republicans may as well start packin'.
For the next month, all we're going to hear is Dems are ahead in the polls and everything is bad overseas. But if remember correctly, all the polls had Kerry and Gore winning. GOP victories are always a big surprise. Republicans tend to win the only poll that matters.
With no major terrorist attacks since 9/11, and a robust economy to boot, why should the Democrats win?
