Michelle Obama's Gaffe

Hat tip MM. Guess who's not ready for prime time?

“For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country,” she told a Milwaukee crowd today, “and not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change.”

Nothing in America's past to be proud of? One has to wonder what country she deems pride-worthy. Now suddenly she feels a sense of national pride while her husband is on the brink of winning the Democratic nomination. I question the timing, and her patriotism.

Updates;

Perhaps she can be proud of this.

Let's compare and contrast: Cindy McCain: "I'm proud of my country"

In an effort to help Michelle Obama, here's a short list of things to be proud of if you're an American.

The Declaration of Independence

George Washington's victory in the Revolutionary War

Abe Lincoln

The Emancipation Proclamation

Teddy Roosevelt

The National Park System

Leading the Allies in a victory over fascism during WW II

Stopping the spread communism

The National Anthem

MLK's "I have a dream" speech

JFK's "Ich bin ein Berliner"

Reagan's "tear down this wall"

The Space Program

Leading the world in economy, freedom and  diplomacy.

Think about it, Ms Obama.
