Rudy's Running
Favored in the polls and still carrying the charisma of the 9/11 aftermath, Rudy Giuliani has announced that he's running as a Republican for President. I like Giuliani. He's one of the few GOP hopefuls that seems to have the "it" factor. The kind of camera charisma that has dominated Presidential politics since the Nixon v Kennedy debates. Giuliani an impressive speaker at the 2004 Republican Convention, and has been called "America's Mayor".
My only concern about Giuliani is that social conservatives may stay home in droves. Although he has successfully established a tough on crime reputation as Mayor of New York, responding to 9/11 so well that he was named Time's Person of the Year Rudy's views on abortion. Fiscal conservatives should have no problems with Rudy, a self made millionaire with no record of raising taxes. George Will raves about his record in NY. Dick Morris likes Rudy's chances.
Giuliani On Hannity and Colmes after he announced he was starting an exploratory committee.
So far the only other GOP candidates who've filed are Mitt Romney and John Mc Cain.
2008 is looking to be a likely landmark election. Hillary, the first woman, Obama the first African-American, Giuliani the first Italian-American, and Romney the first Mormon.
