N is for Nuclear, K is for...

As I write this, it’s being reported that Kim Il Jong’s dictatorship has finally gone nuclear. Although Kim, who has claimed to golf six holes-in-one on his first attempt at the sport, threatened to attack South Korea as well as Japan, often makes an ass of himself.

Kimbomb But with a USGS report confirming Kim’s nuclear test with a 4.2 magnitude temblor 240 miles north east of Pyongyang. leaves little doubt that an underground test was successful.130_40

While pundits pooh-poohed the Taepodong 2 missiles, the international community sat back, content to negotiate with a wonton thug, willing to starve his own people for the sake of threatening his neighbors. The media is “surprised” by this “unbelievable” act of provocation, and any real action suggested to stop the inevitable bloodshed is quickly dismissed as an overreaction.

Strategypage.com,

“”Conducting a nuclear weapons test will not mean that North Korea has useable nuclear weapons, but does mean that the government means to replace its increasingly unreliable army, with a few nuclear weapons. This is needed to provide a credible threat to South Korea. You cannot run an extortion racket unless you can make a credible threat.””

North Korea has consistently broken treaties, including it’s signing of the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty. Though Kim may not have a capable or consistent delivery system , it’s clear the direction the N Korean government wants to take and it’s only a matter of time before they accomplish their goal if the US doesn’t interfere.

But even without a delivery system, you can count on Kim selling nuclear materials and technology to our enemies. We have no choice but to stop Kim by military means. Talks, treaties and sanctions have always failed in the past and only brought us closer to an unimaginably deadly conclusion.
