EU Uncooperative on Airline Safety
I would love to travel to Europe someday, but sometimes when I read stuff like this... Emphasis mine.
Of course we need information on potential hijackers, and on visitors who may have radical backgrounds.
But Telmo Baltazar, counselor to the EU delegation, said talks were positive and constructive. "Talks did not collapse," he said. "They are at a temporary impasse and are ongoing."
Chertoff said in a telephone interview Saturday that
he was sending EU representatives "an initial proposed agreement, which
I think embodies what their fundamental requirements for data
protection are so we can do what we need to protect our borders. If
they're prepared to accept and sign, great. If we have to have
additional talks, fine."
Protect the borders...what a novel idea! To make matters worse, the EU has shown it's unreliability on this issue in the past by rejecting a previous agreement established after 9/11 to provide airline security. The al-Qaeda terrorists were giddy before 9/11, future terrorists are no doubt celebrating now.
""The agreement was meant to last until 2007 and gave the US access to thirty four catagories of information about passengers coming into the US.""
Previous deals broken makes one wonder about the assurance and quality of any future agreement. While Islam practices the perpetual war of Jihad, the EU seems happy to comply with perpetual state of dhimmitude, leaving passengers in a perpetual state of danger.

We don't hear much about the gaps in security with regard to international flights. I'll bet that many Americans traveling to Europe don't have a clue as to the laxness.

I'll bet! If you doubt U.S. security... Look out!
I LOVE that last paragraph, Kevin! That's quote worthy material!
